High performing teams are "a must of the day" for any successful business performance. A more diverse range of behavioral styles presented by the team members means more opportunities, but it also means more complexity to be skillfully managed. Extended DISC ® is a behavioral instrument that helps diagnose team members' natural preferences vs their adaptive styles during a range of scenarios, such as communicating and interacting with others, becoming motivated and motivating others, and playing a specific team role.
Mapping individual preferences of team members, both natural and adaptive, helps to easily diagnose and address the team's strengths and challenges. Extended DISC ® recognizes 160 different behavioral styles which are the combinations of the four basic styles: Dominance (D – style), Influence (I – style), Steadiness (S – style) and Conscientious (C – style). The distance between the natural style and adaptive style indicates the amount of effort needed to fill the gap. The overall exercise may lead to constructive discussions resulting in individual and/or team related development and improvement plans.
The course includes a one-day workshop and 30' Extended Disc Personal Analysis Feedback delivered by a certified consultant. Each participant is asked to fill in a brief online Personal Analysis Extended Disc survey (8-10 minutes) a few days before the course. Respondents are advised to take the survey in a quiet place without any distractions.
This survey is a fundamental part of the course and must be completed to participate actively in the workshop.
The first part of the course focuses on the analysis of the personal natural and adaptive styles. All individual styles are mapped on the Extended Disc diamond. The second part of the course focuses on how to apply personal analysis Extended Disc results to a team development process. This process considers various team development stages and challenges to create individual and team development plans. The Team Analysis provides an easy to use framework to understand complex issues quickly, solve problems and improve performance. It also helps management align their business or team strategy with the behavioral characteristics of the team members.
The course is a highly participative and practical workshop where we address most common challenges teams have nowadays such as: communication, motivation, problem solving, trust building, and delivering complete results on time.
